EPrivacy Directive 2012

Under the new EPrivacy directive, websites using cookies must give the visitor a chance to accept of decline their use. As a responsible retailer we are now taking steps to make customers aware of this. In the main if any website uses a shopping cart, it will use cookies, this is normal.

What is a cookie? - A cookie is a text file containing information that can be remembered by a web browser between pages. When an individual uses a web browser to access the internet their browser can create cookies which are stored on the user’s computer. Cookies are not programs and therefore cannot contain viruses or other malicious software. They are purely a string of text and numbers.

Our X-Cart Shopping Cart Software uses a temporary session cookie, which only lasts during a single visit to our website. This cookie only stores information about what you add to your shopping basket for the duration of your trip and is only set when you click the "BUY" Button. This way when you proceed to checkout we know specifically what it is you have ordered.

Once you close your web browser this cookie information is automatically removed from your computer. It is also removed automatically after a short period of time should you choose not to buy from us or when your order is placed.

Rest assured no card or payment details are stored or kept on our servers, this takes place via our Encyrpted Secure SSL Connection at a later stage via Paypal, Worldpay or Paypoint, which ever way you choose to pay for your order.
